Habersham County United Way is pleased to announce the creation of the Covid-19 Response Fund to assist those directly impacted by Coronavirus in Habersham County. This fund was made possible by the generosity of North Georgia Community Foundation, the StephJo Foundation, South State Bank, Ethicon and others. The Fund’s goal is to help those individuals and families in Habersham County most impacted by the pandemic, with a special emphasis on providing for the basic human needs of our community’s most vulnerable residents. The Fund will issue grants to eligible nonprofits able to meet existing needs.
As a result of the coronavirus crisis, our most critical nonprofit organizations that serve on the front lines of any community emergency (shelters, food pantries, healthcare organizations) are already feeling the strain and have experienced increased demand for services while simultaneously navigating decreased financial resources.
Nonprofit organizations may also face challenges providing support due to decreased workforce and a shortage of volunteers to sustain their respective missions. The operational challenges are mounting at a time when the needs have increased.
United Way, with the financial support of North Georgia Community Foundation, StephJo Foundation, South State Bank, Ethicon and others has launched a fundraising effort, the COVID-19 Response Fund. The fund will support organizations helping to serve the needs of residents in Habersham County impacted by the crisis, especially our most vulnerable populations.
The COVID-19 Response Fund is administered by Habersham County United Way. All grant applications will be reviewed by the Allocation Committee and recommendations made to the Board of Directors for approval.
All applicants must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must be a 501(c)3 organization providing assistance to individuals and families through education, health and mental health, food security, workforce development, shelter, financial security or other related services.
Organizations must have a demonstrated ability to deploy resource quickly, and effectively.
Organizations must have the ability to track and report on utilization and outcome.
Faith organizations may apply for funding, but only if the project for which funding is requested seeks to address the stated purposes of the Fund without regard to a particular religious belief.
